emerging

Hello. So nice to see you again. It was far too long, but, I needed to take that break from posting.

I suppose that I didn't really know how I would react to being pregnant.

I'm typically quite an optimistic person and I attribute that to my uncanny ability to compartmentalize any worry and more or less brush it aside.

But the worry associated with this particular little bean was unshakable. Really rather consuming. I've basically been a bit of a wreck. Compounded by the fact that we were keeping it all a secret from family and friends.

But, the secret is out.

And at nearly thirteen weeks, I'm feeling the anxiety loosen. Maybe it was because we saw the little one wave to us during this last sonogram, or because my belly is starting to round out, but it's all starting to feel real. real enough that I can begin writing about it again.

here's a little picture with some handy little labels:

  1. Congrats! I didn't realize we were so close to each other, I'm about 13.5 weeks today! I just wanted to let you know that I have been dealing with anxiety something fierce, and if you ever want to "chat" about it via email or something, I'd love to. I'm currently having mini-panic attacks about my NTU this Wednesday. I really would love to exchange emails or messages if you're interested.

  6. I LOVE that the sac looks like a heart in that photo. That's seriously so precious. I was wondering if maybe something had gone wrong, but I'm very relieved to hear that you are still pregnant and doing well. Don't worry, I don't think there's a lot of judgement that goes around here in IF blogland (about your absence or how we all deal with our situations). Glad you're back and okay!

  11. Wow! Your picture above is BEAUTIFUL. I just had my first ultrasound at 6.5 weeks and all I saw was a little smudge. But someday it will have arms and legs and a little button nose just like yours. Just gorgeous.

The worrying is inevitable, especially after loss. Now that you've crossed the 12 week mark, I hope you breathed a deep sigh of relief! I am waiting [im]patiently for that day myself. Sigh.

CONGRATS again. What a wonderful place to be.

  14. oh a BIG congratulations to you are your little pea!

I think every pregnant woman, no matter how easy or difficult it was to conceive, struggles with worry. It's just part of your transition to motherhood!

take care of yourself. ooh and, that kiehls lotion... I have been rubbing it everywhere, definitely the belly. I think you deserve a treat for your stretching skin.
